Clematis montana var.
Clematis montana var. rubens, the anemone clematis, is a vigorous climber that flowers profusely in May and June with pink flowers. The plant climbs up by itself and loses its leaves in winter. This makes it well suited to a wall or over a pergola, in a position in sun or partial shade. The flowers attract bees.
